EOL for 32bit Applications

Microsoft Windows 2008 was the last available operating system with native 32 bit support, and as a result we have made provisions for clients who required 32 bit applications by creating additional application pools on each Windows Server.

The accommodations brought about their own challenges in which clients were not able to use the control panel to select these custom changes and subsequently there was a requirement on support to make these changes on a per website basis.

Microsoft's support for Windows 2008 ended in January 2020 and as a result we will no longer provide support for 32 bit applications from the 1st January 2021.

Clients are advised to upgrade their code to the latest available technologies available which leverage off 64 bit architecture or find alternative solutions such as a Windows VPS.

Remote Access to MySQL Servers

Client who required remote access to MySQL Servers on any of our Shared Windows Servers will need to connect via a VPN account in order to gain remote access to their database.

Scripts which run on our web servers will have access to the MySQL servers and this change only affects remote connections outside of our environment.

Clients are advised to order a free VPN account from our store in preparation for the change which is scheduled for the 1st January 2021.
