Effective the 1st March 2023, we will no longer provide support for 32-bit applications on our Windows IIS Web servers. This decision has been made in light of the rapidly changing technology landscape and the increasing demands on our infrastructure. Running 32-bit applications on a 64-bit IIS Web server comes with the cost of limited memory support, driver compatibility, and additional load on the Web servers, which can impact the performance of your applications and the stability of the Web servers itself.
Existing applications and web sites which rely on 32 bit applications will continue to run, how ever we will not provide any support in the event that you require a change to the web service or server.
We have in the past spent considerable time making customizations to our servers to support and facilitate these legacy applications, and providing support when these applications ran into compatibility issues - sadly these support costs may in some instances exceed the cost of the hosted service.
We understand that this change may impact your business and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. However, we would like to offer you an alternative solution. You can purchase a self-managed Windows VPS and host your applications on the VPS. This will give you full control over your legacy code and allow you to manage it to your specifications.
