Why does my domain name have a serverhold status at the registry?

The ZACR who administers Co.Za, Org.Za, Net.Za and Web.Za domain names requires that the DNS servers used during registration or transfer of a domain be setup as authoritative in order for a DNS update to be published.

Typically when registering or transferring a domain name to Absolute Hosting you need to make sure that the domain name is added to the control panel before transfer or registration.

If the domain is not added to the control panel before transfer or registration and you use the DNS servers linked to your account, then the registry will place the domain into serverhold.

To resolve this issue, make sure that the domain name has been added to the control panel, that you are using the correct dns servers for your domain and then force a name server update by changing the order of the dns servers from within the client service area.

Refer to the What Name Servers Do I use when Registering or Transferring a Domain knowledge base article if you are unsure of which DNS servers to use.
