Understanding VPS Network Speeds

This article helps to explain the various network speeds available across our VPS servers and help you make the right decision.

By default all VPS servers come with a 100mbps connection, this is the theoretical maximum speed that you can expect depending on network conditions and where you are testing from and to.

In addition to the above, this also assumes that your bandwidth usage falls in line with the amount of bandwidth that you have purchased. IE, If you purchased 250GB bandwidth and your VPS has utilized 300GB then you will not be able to achieve these speeds.

Clients who connect from or to networks that peer with us will experience lower latency and increased chances of reaching maximum speeds.

Before purchasing a faster network speed for your VPS we advise that you start with the default speed of up to 100mbps and perform your own tests and only if you are satisfied with latency then purchase an upgrade.

Where possible, ask your provider to peer with us to improve your experience and once this is in place you can consider upgrading the network speed.

Network throughput is provided as a best effort service and without any guarantees.
